It is best to place it in a laundry bag to avoid friction with other clothes which could damage it. After washing, avoid twisting or wringing the bow tie, this could distort its structure. Choose to dry in the open air, away from direct sunlight, to avoid any shrinkage or discoloration. When ironing, use a low temperature iron with a damp cloth, that is, a damp fabric between the iron and the bow tie, to avoid burning or leaving marks on the polyester.
